AND shape cards it is on the SUO challenge blog this week. I have made a couple of pretty stellar ones in my time, but for the most part, they just make my lips freeze and then it popped into my head, why not make a “butterfly shape” and the easiest way to do that was with SU’s huge butterfly stamp! So I stamped it on watercolor card stock and colored it with the old water based markers….and these are the colors on the SCS color challenge this week….so it all just came together in a gargantuan butterfly. 🙂 Butterflies are so cool, when you think how they started out as caterpillars. If that doesn’t make you realize there is a GOD in his HEAVEN, I don’t know what WILL. Who likes caterpillars? Fat, grubby, hairy, ugly, crawly caterpillars – and then they turn into this??? Graceful, light, airy, fluttery, gorgeous butterflies……kinda like US when we let God get a hold of our lives…..HE makes something beautiful out of something not so beautiful. A lovely girl I know said she was nervous about coming to church because she hadn’t been in a long time. Come on in sweet girl, we are all just a bunch of cracked pots, and HE is the potter, and HE is mending us, a bit at a time. We are all a bunch of caterpillars, slowly becoming butterflies. We are all broken, and that’s why we need Jesus. Even so Lord Jesus, come. 🙂 Until next time, Karen

February 23, 2015Gorgeous!!!!! it's amazing what you accomplished with SU markers.
I've been hesitant about buying this huge stamp but, each time I change my mind about buying it, someone makes a masterpiece with it and I succumb one more time to the lure of this amazing image. What intimidates me is it's size but I've seen cards made with only one wing or in a slant with a partial image of both wings, I've seen it heat embossed in all kinds of colors, I've seen it with water colors or Copic markers, with Prismacolor pencils and even with no color and it always looks beautiful.
So Karen, thank you for the gentle nudge, I will order this stamp ASAP.
Thank you also for sharing your work, you are so talented.
