ANNIVERSARIES TODAY, are something to be celebrated! In this day and age where every OTHER marriage ends in divorce, we surely should make a big deal out of anniversaries!! I tend to not celebrate them enough, not sure why, maybe because we have a big family and there are birthdays, and Christmas, etc, etc, etc, and if I started celebrating all anniversaries with a gift, well, you get the picture. But when I think about it, a card would and should do it!! It’s a time to reflect on marriage, and the longevity thing!! We tried to instill in our kids, make sure you choose wisely, because divorce should not be an option you entertain. Now of course, that is in a perfect world, and some marriages end in divorce for warranted reasons. But we should go in to marriage realizing how seriously GOD takes it, so that when we come to rough waters, which we WILL, we can weather the storm, pulling TOGETHER to get thru those tough times. After 37 years with the same man, I can honestly say that if I had it to do all over again, yes, I would choose the same guy. Just some thoughts on being in it for the long haul. So let’s celebrate the milestones of marriage!! Happy Anniversary everyone! Until next time……

June 28, 2011Thank you Karen for your wonderful inspiration – cards and otherwise. Congratulations on your 37 years. And I agree with you about marriage. Your musings about your husband mimic what I feel about mine! After 2 decades I love him more now than the day we got married. He is a keeper. And one of the things we learned, which I tell our kids often is this…..do not marry the person you think you want to spend the rest of your life with. Marry the person you think GOD wants you to spend the rest of your life with. Because if God truly did want you to be together, then nothing, absolutely nothing, should break you apart. If God wants you to be together it must be worth fighting for and if you can make it to the other side of the mountain (those times when you are at odds with each other and you think it will just never work)…well when you get to the other side of that mountain you find that it was sooooo worth the effort. My husband and I went through 2 very dark, very major storms, twice in our earlier years. And many people didn't think we stood a snowball's chance. But we kept remembering that we got married for the right reasos, even if it was difficult to find them in all that darkness. We rode out those storms and we are stronger for them now. And what a gift those challenges to our marriage turned out to be!! We grew in Patience. Trust. Compassion. Forgiveness. And humor. Don't forget humor!!
At any rate, you are right. Anniversaries are a big deal and we should acknowledge them more often than we do!! Thanks for the reminder. God Bless! <><

June 28, 2011GORGEOUS card, Karen! And wonderful words about anniversaries! Just sent a card to my son and DIL- going to be 24 for them. Yes, they weathered storms and GOD brought them through stronger! Going to be 49 for us, and YES, we would pick each other again! It takes 3 to make a marriage- bride, groom and GOD as the third!!! Thank you for wise words of wisdom!!

July 2, 2011Hello Karen, I have just spent about an hour admiring each one of your creations. You made me dicover possibilitis of my SU stamps sets, gave me so much inspirations. I am used to create cards with characters (ie. Magnolia etc.) but also love flowers of all kinds. I was never satisfied with what I came up with. Discovered you on SCS last night, your work is spectacular. Thank you for sharing and inspiring. became a follower, to make sure I don't miss anything.
Have a wonderful long weekend.
